Adriana Naveh
Adriana Naveh is an Israeli artist of Argentine origin, born in Mendoza in 1963 and based in Jerusalem for several decades, where she lives, works, and teaches. A fine-arts graduate of the National University of Cuyo, she continued her training at Israel’s Avni Institute. Her painting turns the city into an inner landscape where architecture, color, and light respond to one another.
The city is her central subject: facades, architectural lines, figures, and bicycles form scenes in which abstraction meets figuration. Her recent works use acrylic lacquer on aluminum, a cool contemporary support made unexpectedly luminous through color, shadow, and free gesture. The solitary figure does not express loneliness, but intimacy and strength.
Through her search for place and belonging, Naveh transforms daily life into a painterly experience. Her compositions combine architectural elegance with expressive energy, creating an almost three-dimensional depth. They offer a vision of urban life that is at once modern, poetic, and deeply human.
