Gitty Fuchs

Gitty Fuchs is an Israeli-American artist, born in New York in 1974, who has lived and worked in Jerusalem since the age of nine. After teaching art for thirty years, she developed from her studio-gallery a painting practice rooted in Jewish tradition. Acrylic, texture, and gold leaf give depth and light to her spiritual subjects.

Using acrylic, she layers material, color, and gold leaf to give her subjects an almost inner light. The Kotel, Jerusalem, the menorah, prayer, music, and biblical narratives appear in compositions that combine spiritual emotion with a strong decorative sense. Texture reinforces the physical presence of the work while gold captures and redistributes light.

From her Jerusalem studio-gallery, Fuchs shares her creations with collectors and designers in many countries. Her work succeeds in making tradition immediately alive. Each painting is conceived as a meeting between beauty, memory, and belonging, bringing a powerful symbolic presence to an interior.
