Sino

SINO is a French artist, born in 1970, who lives and works in the Paris region. A pioneer of the Paris graffiti scene, he has explored lettering since the 1980s and later extended that research into his studio practice. Layered marks, material, and color now transform the energy of tagging into luminous contemporary abstraction.

The artist treats the canvas as a territory in transformation. Forms are never entirely fixed: they appear, recede, and respond to one another according to light and viewing distance. This tension between construction and spontaneity gives his work a particularly immersive presence. Large formats and balanced structures allow color to unfold with strength while retaining subtlety.

In a work such as “Lagoon,” the title introduces a sensory dimension: aquatic depth, reflection, movement, and stillness meet without imposing a literal image. SINO thus offers an accessible and evocative abstraction whose chromatic power can transform the atmosphere of a space while leaving viewers free to form their own interpretation.
